What is Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence ?

You all have heard these terms often many times, some good things and some bad things according to the people's own perspective towards it. We find these things very fascinating whenever someone speaks about it, the first thing after hearing Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science; comes in our mind, we can make certain Robots, Automatic Machine, different assists like Google Assists, Siri, Self-driving cars etc. These are the fascinating applications of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. It's incredible that we can make a driver-less car. But the first things when we are thinking about all these things, what we are doing is we are making a machine just like Human beings. We are making machine intelligent as much as can that it can learn without any interruption of a Human beings.

Now, How does a Machine Learn ? The answer to this simple question is Data. The Human beings learn from Mind while Machine can learn with the help of Data.

Now, come to the things what is Data ? Data Science comprises of two terms Data and Science. Basically, data is whatever things you are getting, that if your reading this, then this is a data for you, if you are asking for anything, it becomes data for you because it makes sense for you. Data for human beings is like whatever the things we are having that is Data but for the Machine data is in Numerical form or say a bunch of certain numbers.

Every time when we open mobile phone, we click on certain application, we create certain data. Everywhere we are going, we are creating certain data, you are visiting some place, clicking some pictures, you are creating data. Whatever the application that you are using is also Database, like you are using a calculator, what it does it takes some raw data from you and gives output in the form of certain data. If you are using data, then data is useful otherwise it is garbage.

Now, what is science? Science simply means knowledge. So, the Data science is the knowledge of Data or the information.

We are generating Data and our data is used by certain organisations. Like when we use google maps, we create data by providing our location, destination, time taken by us to cover a certain distance using various transportation and also the pictures of the location, google map use these Data/information to improve himself. Now we are improving google map with what we are providing information to google maps but if google map use this information then it is a data for him otherwise it is a garbage. Likewise, an organisation is using data to make the perfect business strategies.

Now, you all should be clear with Data Science. Data Science is basically a process of using data by extracting, cleaning, manipulating data to make a decision or to predict outcome using a clean data. Data science is using the data, it's a processing the data.

Now, let's come to Machine Leaning and Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence is a broader area in which we are creating an application just like human beings. You can also say an intelligent application. AI enables machine to think. 

You know Machine it does not have brain. But we are making the machine intelligent as much we can do. We emphasize the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like a human beings. We are making the machine to think just like a human being. Sounds very fascinating and it is. There are different applications that you are using in day to day life like you are using the google assistant, you are using the live streams, the self-driving cars are most exciting application of artificial intelligence.

Now, What is Machine Learning ? What is the relation between Machine Learning and Artificial intelligence ?

Basically, Machine Learning is the subset of Artificial Intelligence. Machine Learning allows the machine to learn the data without being programmed. It has certain statistical tools to explore, visualise and analyse the data. So, basically it allowing machines to learn from the data.

Now, a question arises to you that, what is Deep Learning ? In the Deep learning we are making the mimic of a human brain. Basically. we are implementing the Neural Networks and different types of neural networks like CNN, RNN, etc these are certain structures.

Now, the from the Venn diagram, you will be clear that Data Science includes all the three things in it, also we are including some more things like here we are using some Maths, web scrapping, Data Analysis or Data visualisation, all of these are the parts of Data Science. In Short, Data Science is an interdisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, process, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and science from mainly structured and unstructured Data.
